Overview

view from orbiting satellite

A real overview, courtesy of a satellite photo.

The Poodle Farm was established in 2010. Our house and garage are at the top of the photo. The 'L' shaped barn is the workshop and storage building. The large rectangular building at the bottom is the indoor venue, with the outdoor agility ring next to it on the right.

As you can see from the satellite shot, there is plenty of parking for trials and other special events. In addition to the outdoor agility field there are outdoor areas that can be isolated for other competition requiring restricted access such as scent detection (Exterior Search). We have a little over 2 acres in total, year-round washroom facilities, plenty of water and wide open spaces around all 4 sides.

What We Do

As the name says, we are a canine sport facility providing a safe and comfortable venue for training and regsitered competition.

main event room

Our indoor training and competition ring has over 3,000 square feet of grass artificial turf that is used year round. We regularly play host to Clubs for CKC events, as well as hosting our own CARO rally-obedience events. Also available is a space full of canine conditioning equipment and a smaller area with rubber matting with windows for spectator viewing and warm-up.

outdoor agility ring

Our outdoor training and competition ring has 10,000 square feet of grass and is fully fenced and gated. Primarily used for agility, we have a full compliment of well-maintained rubberized contact equipment, jumps of all styles, weaves and tunnels. Gates are available to divide the space for station training or seminars, and it has lighting for activities into the evening.

As of 2026, we have ceased the manufacture of equipment and accessories for dog sports. Thanks to everyone who supported us over our 2+ decades in manufacturing agility and obedience equipment, as well as a wide range of training and conditioning tools.

Finding Us

If you have a GPS, it may work better if you enter the address as follows …

1800 Windham Road 6
Norfolk, ON

… or it might not. Personally, we don't have much faith in GPS unless you are here and then save the location on your device. The only online map tool that we can vouch for is Google Maps - just put The Poodle Farm in the search bar and it will find us.

What's the weather like? Should I bring spare socks?
Weather Canada will tell you.

Google Maps

Google Maps can help with turn-by-turn directions. Or not. Sometimes an old school road map is better. I never leave home without one. Which is why we have one you can print out.

our house

The view from the road. Google Streetview pictures are slightly different, they took a picture from directly in front of the house. Better than the old picture that was down the road further …

Our Social Networks

Our visibility on the mainstream social networks has been reduced over the years. Debby still uses facebook to coordinate training and trials, but we aren't much for posting on YouTube or X(Twitter) anymore. Some people love social networking, some don't. Some just don't feel the need to share enough regularly to make the effort worthwhile.

Competition and Poodle organizations at home and abroad

If we have something to say, we have our own domain on which to say it. I'm not sure I can survive the emotional distress should someone choose to "unfriend" me so I don't take the chance.
